Health Benefits

The Society is committed to continuing to work with the Government of the Northwest Territories to find appropriate, mutually beneficial solutions to maintain the current health benefits for seniors in the NWT.

The Society will prepare and make a presentation to the Standing Committee on Social Programs when possible solutions have been developed and approved by the membership.

The Society recognizes the increased costs in the delivery of health and social programs must be addressed in a fair and equitable manner.  The benefits of a more streamlined health and social services program delivery model will move forward in accomplishing the goal of reducing costs while still ensuring seniors will see the NWT as a place to retire and live in harmony with others in their communities.
