The NWT Seniors Society is an advocacy organization that works towards quality of life for all NWT Seniors. The Society is made up of member organizations representing the interests of seniors and elders throughout the NWT. The Board of Directors, who must be 60 years of age or over, consists of representatives from various regions of the NWT  appointed by their community.

Membership

The NWT Seniors’ Society works for its members.  There are currently approximately 300 members across the NWT.

There are many advantages to being a member of the society.  You will be able to influence what issues the organization advocates for, elect the Board of Directors, or become a board member.

What's New

Updated NWT Seniors' Society Constitution

The NWT Seniors' Society was approved at the Annual General Meeting on November 5, 2024. The updated constitution includes a new Mandate and Vision as well as rules for the Board of Directors. Double click on the PDF button beside this section for the full constitution.

Train the Trainer Elder Abuse Workshop

The NWT Seniors' Society offers a three-day Train the Trainer Workshop that includes facilitation skills, expert knowledge on elder abuse, and prevention of elder abuse. Indigenous governments, non-government organizations, and seniors' organizations who are interested should contact the Executive Director at ed@seniorsnwt.ca.
